On 3 September 2020, Van Bael & Bellis hosted a panel at the first fully virtual Luxury Law Summit 2020 – Europe. The session was titled “Trade, acquisitions and foreign subsidies: What new EU rules might mean for luxury and retail brands in the wake of Brexit”. The panel’s discussion centred on four main areas:
- From “Free Trade” to “level the playing field”
- Trade measures and potential risks for brands
- Tackling foreign subsidies: EU White Paper on Foreign Subsidies
- Brexit: un-level the playing field
