Earlier this week, VBB Partner Isabelle Van Damme and Counsel Thibaut D’hulst took part in a CEUTIA webinar. Isabelle discussed EU sanctions legislation and its implications for Canadian companies, joined by Martha Harrison and Ljiljana Stanic both from Toronto’s McCarthy Tétrault. Thibaut’s spoke about the territorial application of GDPR to Canadian companies in a panel on “the multiverse of EU data rules” that was chaired by Chantal Bernier (former Privacy Commissioner of Ottawa and now at Dentons). Other speakers in the panel were Irma Gudziunaite (BSA The Software Alliance) and Pascal Kerneis (European Services Forum).
