Overview

Emmanuelle Rogiest focuses on EU and international trade law, as well as international dispute settlements. Her practice includes advising clients in anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations.

Prior to joining Van Bael & Bellis, Emmanuelle worked in a Brussels law firm where she focused on trade remedies and WTO dispute settlement. Emmanuelle also worked as an advisor at the Permanent Mission of Belgium to the United Nations in New York.

    European Commission issues proposal for a Directive criminalising violations of EU sanctions

    On 28 November 2022, the European Council unanimously adopted a Decision to add the violation of EU sanctions to the list of “EU crimes”. Following that decision, on 2 December 2022, the European Commission issued a proposal for a Directive defining the relevant criminal offences and setting out the applicable penalties.
