Van Bael & Bellis secures the repeal of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of steel tube or pipe fittings originating in Turkey

Van Bael & Bellis successfully assisted Turkey’s largest fittings producer RSA in the framework of the expiry review initiated by the European Commission concerning the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of fittings originating in Turkey, South Korea, Russia and Malaysia. Imports of Turkish fittings have been subject to anti-dumping duties as high as 16.7% of the customs value for the last five years. At the end of the expiry review, the Commission determined that the Turkish producers had not engaged in dumping during the review investigation period, and concluded that there is no likelihood of recurrence of dumping in the future should measures against Turkey be repealed. While Turkish-origin fittings will thus be imported into the EU free of duty as from tomorrow, the anti-dumping duties ranging between 23.8-75% applicable to imports originating in South Korea, Russia and Malaysia will remain in force for another period of five years. RSA was assisted by Van Bael & Bellis partner Fabrizio Di Gianni and associate Aytaç Celebi. The Commission’s implementing regulation was published in today’s Official Journal.
