Employers’ obligations regarding public holidays

Traditionally, Belgium celebrates three public holidays in May. As a general rule, however, employees are not allowed to work on public holidays in Belgium.

The following FAQs address the circumstances in which employers may employ employees during public holidays and the employer’s obligations in this respect.
