Van Bael & Bellis partner Kris Van Hove has authored an article on “Revising the rulebook for competition law in digital markets in Europe” published in the latest edition of Competition Policy International. Over the past few years, a flurry of expert reports and policy documents has been issued by the European Commission, Member States and the UK on this topic. The article presents the commonalities in those reports and policy documents in terms of perceived competition issues and offered solutions and subjects the solutions to a critical analysis from the perspectives of necessity and proportionality. The article was co-authored by our former colleague Argyrios Papaefthymiou.
